<img src="http://www.scrollpress.com/wp-content/Lateral-cover.jpg" hspace='17' vspace='17' alt="The Lateral Truth" / align= "right"/>Our newest release is Rebecca Bradley’s The Lateral Truth: An Apostate’s Bible Stories. She is the author of the Gil Trilogy and numerous short stories, has worked as an archaeologist and teacher and lives in Calgary.

Was Moses really such a great liberator? How did a thug as thick as Samson get to be a hero? Wasn’t the miracle at Bethesda about as merciful as pulling wings off flies? The fifteen stories in The Lateral Truth follow selected biblical themes through to their illogical conclusions, building on questions the author was never brave enough to ask in Sunday school.

Robert J. Sawyer, Hugo Award-winning author of Rollback says:

Rebecca Bradley is a fabulous writer, and The Lateral Truth is a witty and clever skewering of Bible stories. Funny and fresh—a much-needed antidote to rampant fundamentalism. Enjoy!

Ronald Wright, author of A Short History of Progress thinks that:

With skill, wit and a keen nose for a good story, Rebecca Bradley reminds us that sacred cows must never be milked too seriously.

You can buy Rebecca Bradley’s The Lateral Truth from your local bookstore or online (U.S. price: $15.95; Canadian price: $15.95). We invite submissions from new and established authors.

Our first release is R. Patrick’s Prisoner’s Under Glass. This is a magical novel for young and adult readers alike:

Rachel Windover is in Venice with her parents. She’s supposed to be on vacation. So far the airline has lost her luggage, she has fallen out of a gondola in the middle of a scenic cruise, and now she has this churning sensation in the pit of her stomach; it’s the feeling she gets when something is about to go really wrong.

They should never have gone into that souvenir shop. Then her father wouldn’t have gone all glassy eyed and goofy after meeting Lilah, the hauntingly beautiful owner. He wouldn’t have ordered dozens of her strange souvenirs for his shop back home, and Rachel’s mother wouldn’t have disappeared.

Now Rachel must deal with the horrible secret inside one of the souvenirs. It is a secret that forces her to embark on a journey that will take her and her best friend Sam halfway around the world and under it, into a realm swarming with sea witches and dark magic. But there’s an even deeper magic waiting in the caverns beneath the sea. It could bring her powers she never imagined. It could bring back her mother. It could restore all the prisoners under glass. All she has to do is survive.

You can buy R. Patrick’s Prisoner’s Under Glass from your local bookstore or online (U.S. price: $17.95; Canadian price: $17.95). For more about R.
